[ Google Review ] Be ready to spend a bit, even if you’re just going alone! I managed a mixed (non-alcoholic) drink and pastry for about ¥1600, and I got some of the cheaper items. However, the menu and building are unlike any regular Starbucks location, in the best way. Interior design and environment was stunning, and absolutely photo-worthy. Depending on the time, most customers will first have to receive a queue number outside beside the main building. It won’t be hard to find - there are employees giving directions and other customers doing the same as you. Service was quick, despite the somewhat long lines and complexity of many of the menu items. There are four floors, three of which serve various food items and drinks, including pizza, pie pastries, classic cakes, tarts (and more that I can’t pronounce), etc. You can enjoy your purchases on any floor, and the top floors have outdoor balconies. Drinks ranged from simple coffee brews to mixtures I’ve never even considered, like what I ordered: orange soda and iced coffee. In the same glass. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. For those who are of age, alcoholic drinks and cocktails are also available. Reserve Roastery-exclusive products are also available for purchase at the front, including coffee beans, but as with any Starbucks merchandise, you’ll have to put quite a bit of cash down for it. Though I must say, some of the items were beautifully designed and had I the spare budget, I certainly would have bought a few things. Planning to go again with my aunt, and will try some of the other fancy drinks and such. Really excited!
[ Google Review ] Absolutely love this place! I came here every day for lunch while staying in Tokyo! What a great variety of delicious Japanese cuisine! Poke and oysters were very fresh and honestly the best tasting ones I had in my life! Highly recommend!
Order the WATEISHOKU, authentic japanese set menu with a variety of side dishes. Only available Tuesday-Thursday, must get there early.
Bonito flakes on rice with an egg, which needs to be ordered separately. Located down at the basement.
[ Google Review ] Small lanes with restaurants lined up the alley. The flowers displays were simply beautiful, lots of detail.
[ Google Review ] What an absolutely mind blowing dining experience. I got here early right as they opened since I didn't have a reservation and I knew places filled up quickly. They were happy to seat me and talk me through the options. Everyone is super 10/10 friendly and helpful, but their English was a bit weak, and my Japanese is pitiful so it was a struggle first. Their English speaking employee started a little after opening which made things much easier once he arrived. Yuji offered to cook my cuts of Kobe beef for me so that I didn't ruin the meat. Everything was just perfect, from the look of the meat, to the cuts, to the cooking level, I've never had such succulent beef before, nothing in America has come close to it. I even tried the step down Wagyu and it was still fantastic, and much more affordable. If you have the time and are willing to spend extra money, please please please try this place and order at least 1 side order of the Kobe beef, it is to die for.
[ Google Review ] One of the top sightseeing/shrine in Japan where you should plan to visit. Best time would be April or November to enjoy spring or autumn leaves. Walk inside to see signature thousands of shrines dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice and have some photos along this walkway. The shrine can also be reached in a short walk from Fushimi Inari Station along the Keihan Main Line.
[ Google Review ] An absolute must if you’re in the area. So many great shops and foods. The grilled scallops with soy sauce and butter were exquisite. The salmon sushi was excellent. Make sure to take home a bottle of sake or at least sample it for 100 yen. There is a bakery that had a match macadamia nut cookie that I loved. We had so much fun we went back for lunch again the next day.
[ Google Review ] Saw this spa randomly and I walked in because I was intrigued by the flowers. The staff were very accommodating to English Speakers. The spa smelled very nice and the whole ambience was very relaxing! Finally, the massage itself was amazing. I wish I have asked for an hour service, it was so good. Unforgettable! I did not have a booking so just asked if there was a free slot, luckily I was able to get one! I will definitely come back to this place when I come back to Kyoto.
[ Google Review ] Perfect place to play with the kids in good weather days. Lots of nature and 2 small rivers where kids can catch little fish and crabs. There's many trees so even on hot summer days it's not too hot. A nice place to just relax and do nothing.
[ Google Review ] Delicious pizzas (brick oven!) and very reasonable prices. They have seats for one and for two. Waiter speaks very good English - I was really impressed! 👍🏻 They don’t have a lot of space, so if you wanna hang out longer, I’d recommend going to a bar afterwards to make room for new customers. Cash only! Definitely worth five stars.
[ Google Review ] This is a great place for a light lunch or dinner. You can always add more I'd you are hungry! Really refreshing broth , top quality meat and seafood. Fantastic service and really calm and relaxing atmosphere. I'd come back any day.
[ Google Review ] Very scenic and serene! I recommend going early to around sunset. It does get busy, by 7:00am, there were a fair amount of visitors taking photos. There’s a lot more to see besides the bamboo forest!
[ Google Review ] Great cafe with unique taste of variety of coffee beans. Very popular for tourists and local Japanese, always busy every time no matter day or night but it is a worthwhile to wait for the drink. Just take out and have a sit aside the famous river, this is truly local environment. Highly recommend.
[ Google Review ] Reservation is a must. Food is seasonal so the menu is often set but they do ask if you have any food restrictions. Very good food and friendly, the view is pretty
[ Google Review ] There was a line down a narrow staircase. Not ideal for line but people find a way. We showed up around 6, waited about an hour to be seated. The meal was great. The outside part of the nest was crispy. They do measure the fuel for fire exactly what you need for the meal, so don't wait too long to cook your meat. We enjoyed the part where you can finish cooking the meat to your looking. We like the menu options for amount of meat you order based on how hungry you are. There is a wasabi sauce that was amazing. Don't forget the free rice bowl is this need it!! Service was lackluster. We had to call the servers several times before they saw us. We ended up getting up to get attention.
